The Gospel-Works of the Austrian Bible Translator. God’s Word in German (Klosterneuburg, Stiftsbibl., Cod. 51). The Gospel work of the so-called Austrian Bible Translator is handed down in this manuscript, written in the second decade of the 15th century, on II + 376 sheets of paper. This as yet anonymus author translated and commented on large parts of the Bible in the German language in the first half of the 14th century - that is, 200 years before Luther. The gothic minuscule is carefully executed. Only one scribe can be determined. Special characters are the long-s, the round-z and latin abbreviation marks. The use of Tremata can also be determined.
